Welcome to the world sweet baby Saylor Lee Sims. It’s a day of firsts. First breath. First cry. First look at the one whose body has nurtured you for these months. First time to be held in your daddy’s arms. First bath. There’s much more (we won’t go into all the poking and prodding).
It’s a good day to become.
You will become many things in your lifetime, but today you just get to become for the first time.
You don’t know it yet, but you came into the world in a room full of love. Your mom, dad, and two grandmothers. You are loved deeply and without reservation – now and forever.
You slid right out into love.
You may doubt many things in your lifetime – never doubt how loved you are. Most importantly, your Heavenly Father loves you and has known you and of you long before we had any thought of your arrival. You were created in His image, and He treasures you, sings songs over you and holds you in the palm of His hand.
I remember very well the day your daddy entered this world. What a blessing and privilege to now watch his little girl take her first breath. Witnessing the birth of many of my grandchildren is an honor I hold dear – to witness a miracle is not to be taken lightly. I’m grateful to have a front row seat to life and family and love.
I look forward to seeing you grow and become the girl (and eventually the woman) God intended you to be.
Welcome to the world sweet Saylor Lee!
